‘Light The Night’ cancer fundraiser held at Kroger Field

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The lights at Kroger Field may have been off Sunday night, but the sky was bright from the ‘Light The Night’ fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

Each year friends, families and co-workers form teams to raise money for the LLS.  Each walker carries an iconic Light The Night illuminated lantern.

White lanterns are carried by and in honor of survivors and the power of research.  Red lanterns are carried in support of patients and finding cures.  Gold lanterns are carried in remembrance of those who have been lost.

As the LLS event saying goes, “when we walk, cancer runs.”

ABC 36 News anchor Amber Freeman was the emcee for the event.  ABC 36 News producer Ronda Simmons was heavily involved in the campaign.
