UPDATE: 1 dead after 2-car collision in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Fayette County Coroner says that one man has died after a severe collision on North Broadway and 12th Street on Monday.

According to the coroner, the victim is 87-year-old James L. Fogel.  He was pronounced dead at UK Medical Center.  A report from the coroner says Fogel died of blunt force trauma.

The driver of the second car involved in the collision was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  No word on their condition.

The Lexington Fire Department is on the scene of an injury accident that happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday in Lexington.

Fire officials say it happened on North Broadway and 12th Street, and involved two cars.

The drivers of both cars were sent to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.  There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
