Life is Cool – Donate Life Kentucky State Team

Children will get a hands-on lesson in human biology and the importance of maintaining good health at the “Life is Cool” education program!

Charlotte Wong, with Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates, and Pat Ham, the Executive Director of Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky, stop by the studio to tell Katie Solove about the upcoming workshop, happening at Veterans Park Elementary School in Lexington on May 11th.

“Life is Cool” is a health-based education program presented by the Donate Life Kentucky State Team.  The event, which is given to schools for free includes teacher materials, full-color student workbooks, and a 2-hour in-house field trip for students that includes multiple stations and hands-on activities.

More than 60 team members staff the event, including guests from the UK Hospital Transplant Team, the ER Department, Ephraim McDowell Hospital, Hardin Memorial Hospital, Lions Eye Bank of Kentucky, the Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky, and the Kentucky Blood Center!
