LFD: Crews put out kitchen fire in vacant apartment on Malabu Drive

(LEXINGTON, Ky.) The Lexington Fire Department battled a kitchen fire at an apartment in the 100 block of Malabu drive around 11 p.m. Sunday. Authorities told ABC 36 that it may not be food-related, but instead an electrical issue. Crews say that apartment was vacant. Officials say one person was taken to the hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation. Crews say there were no other injuries and that no one was displaced because of the incident.
