LexPark to crack down on safety violations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — LexPark is tightening enforcement on safety-related parking violations, with new, higher fines set to take effect this September.

The Lexington Parking Authority says drivers who block fire lanes, medians, or emergency access points could face fines starting at $50. The most serious violations will carry penalties of up to $100.

Officials say the changes are aimed at improving public safety and accessibility in downtown Lexington.

LexPark is also raising monthly parking rates at Victorian Square for the first time since 2018.
