Lexington’s Truck-a-Palooza returns with sensory-friendly hours and emergency vehicles on display

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) Lexington’s annual Truck-a-Palooza is rolling back into town this weekend, offering families a hands-on look at city vehicles and equipment.

The free event will be held Saturday at Frederick Douglass High School on Winchester Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors can check out more than two dozen trucks, including those from the fire and police departments.

Organizers say the first two hours of the event, from 9 to 11 a.m., will be sensory-friendly—no horns or sirens—making it more accessible for individuals with sensory sensitivities. After 11 a.m., trucks will begin using horns, and ear protection is recommended.
