Lexington’s recycling center reopens
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Recycle Center is back open for business.
The center announced last week a machine that separates aluminum cans from other recyclables malfunctioned and that a part to repair it needed to be ordered.
The part arrived on Monday and was installed, but the center said the machine still wasn’t working.
On Wednesday, the center announced it made a temporary fix to the problem, but is working on a permanent fix.
Lexington’s recycle center accepts dry cardboard, aluminum and steel cans, plastic bottles and jugs with a screwtop neck, glass bottles and jars.
The city announced last month the center was no longer recycling paper products because there was no longer a market for it.
