Lexington’s Bishop Reacts To Pope’s Statement About Homosexuality

Kentucky Catholics reacted Monday to Pope Francis’s statement about homosexuality.

Flying from Brazil back to Rome, the Pope talked to reporters about homosexuals in the Catholic Church.

"If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?", said Pope Francis.

Bishop Ronald Gainer of the Catholic Diocese of Lexington said the Pope’s words were consistent with Catholic doctrine.

The Pope also said not enough had been done to include women in the church and that their roles needed to be more prominent.
