Lexington’s 4th of July fireworks launched from R.J. Corman property

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The city of Lexington is making some changes to its Fourth of July celebration in hopes of avoiding a repeat of last year’s disappointing fireworks display.

The city was restricted by what fireworks it could use last year because the launch site was on top of the Financial Center.

This year, the city says it will be launching fireworks from the RJ Corman Railyard off Oliver Lewis Way, which Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton says is “an ideal location to launch a large fireworks display for a downtown audience.”

The show will again be produced by fireworks company Zambelli Fireworks.

Ball Homes and Central Bank are the sponsors of this year’s Fourth of July festival.
