Lexington woman showcasing challenged artisans

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A Lexington woman is taking items made by people around the world who have lived through abuse, conflict, disease and other challenges and making them available in an online retail business she founded.

Jane Mosbacher Morris is a former State Department employee and has worked at the McCain Institute for International Leadership and now is CEO of To The Market.

The company’s website, http://www.tothemarket.com , says by working to make the items available to the public, the retailer helps the workers acquire economic independence and raises awareness of their challenges.
