Lexington woman arrested after police intercept 35 pounds of suspected meth
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Lexington woman has been arrested after police say they intercepted two suspicious packages containing more than 35 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.
According to Lexington Police, narcotics enforcement detectives began investigating a tip last Wednesday about the arrival of two suspicious packages in Lexington. With assistance from the department’s Intelligence Center and the Kentucky State Police, investigators were able to track the packages and make an arrest.
Police say 34-year-old Demetria Hurd was taken into custody and is now facing multiple charges, including:

Trafficking in methamphetamine

Possession of marijuana

Two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor
Hurd is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
