Lexington to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The city of Lexington will commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day Thursday, with a special program at the Kentucky Theatre on East Main Street. The event will honor eight fallen soldiers with connections to Lexington.

Organizers have announced that Mayor Linda Gorton, U.S. Representative Andy Barr, and UK President Eli Capilouto will speak at the event. The program will begin at 5:30 PM and is free and open to the public.
