Lexington taxi driver robbed at gunpoint

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- It was a scary night for a Lexington taxi driver who was robbed at gunpoint late Friday night.

Lt. Jackie Newman said it happened around 11:30 PM.

The driver went to Whispering Brook Trace near Liberty Elementary to pick up a passenger.

A man with a handgun came up to the cab and demanded money.

The driver gave him what he wanted then watched as the suspect ran off towards Nickwood Trail.

Keep an eye out, the suspect is a 5 foot 3 male, last seen wearing a grey jacket.
