Lexington Super Regional to start on Saturday

Kentucky is a first time host of the last step before the College World Series

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36  NEWS NOW)- #2 Kentucky baseball’s Super Regional hosting duties begin on Saturday at 6 p.m. versus the Oregon State Beavers.

This year is the first time that the Wildcats have hosted a Super Regional, but have made it to this stage two years in a row.

Last year, Head Coach Nick Mingione’s team had to travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to face to the eventual National Champions, the LSU Tigers. The Wildcats dropped the two opening games of the weekend and exited the tournament.

If Kentucky bests the Beavers, who are champions of the Corvallis Regional which they hosted, they will move onto their first ever College World series in Omaha, Nebraska.

The schedule and television assignments for the 2024 Lexington Super Regional are as follows.

  • Game One- Saturday June 8 at 6 p.m. on ESPNU
  • Game Two- Sunday June 9 at 9 p.m. on ESPNU
  • Game Three- If needed will be on Monday June 10. Time and television channel are TBD.
