Lexington strengthens vicious-dog ordinance
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington’s Urban County Council voted Thursday night to strengthen the city’s vicious-dog ordinance, according to a report in the Lexington Herald-Leader.
The newspaper reports under the changes, animal control officers can hold a dog for 10-days after it attacks a human or another domestic animal.
It requires vicious dogs be spayed or neutered.
It creates a photo registry of all vicious dogs.
Owners who don’t comply can be fined.
The ordinance takes effect immediately.
