Lexington sergeant accused of stalking facing criminal charge, suspension

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WGVQ)- Lexington Police sergeant Jervis Middleton now faces a criminal charge and suspension.

After an investigation, Middleton has been charged with second-degree misconduct for reportedly using police resources to get information about the woman he’s accused of stalking.

Police spokeswoman Brenna Angel says on Tuesday Middleton was served with a court summons and suspended with pay “pending the outcome of the judicial process”.

ABC 36 reported last week a woman sought a protective order against Middleton for herself and her child.

She said she was in a relationship with him for more than a year when she started to worry he could be watching her because he knew about too many things he shouldn’t have.

Angel says the same day the woman filed a complaint Middleton was transferred from his assignment as public information officer to an administrative position.

Middleton hasn’t returned our request for comment.
