Lexington SC’s women’s team staying optimistic during four game slump
Greens are 1-4-1 under Interim Manager Sam Stockley
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- In the USL Super League, Lexington Sporting Club has had a rough first season spending most of the campaign in the bottom half of the table.
The Girls in Green are on a four match losing streak with a loss to Spokane this week, 3-0. In those four games, 14 goals have been scored against them.
Interim Head Coach Sam Stockley, who is the third manager of the team this season, says that his team is making progress defensively bit by bit. His vision is for the team to adopt a playing style that’ll suit them in the long run.
“Concentration and the mentality,” are the biggest issues on defense per Stockley. “If we do concede a goal we have to knuckle down and not concede a goal in the next five minutes.”
Lexington is on the road for its next three matches before returning home against Tampa Bay on May 10.
