LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Nico Brown, a talented attacker for Lexington Sporting Club’s men’s United Soccer League Championship side, will spend the 2025 season on loan to Forward Madison FC.

Lexington announced the move on February 4 weeks after Brown was resigned for the upcoming season on January 16.

“The loan agreement provides Brown with the opportunity for continued development and competitive experience while remaining under contract with Lexington Sporting Club,” said the club in a statement. “Lexington SC looks forward to watching Brown’s progress and contributions throughout the season.”

Prior to his re-signing last month, supporters of the Greens were outspoken on social media to retain Brown, who is a fan favorite.

Forward Madison plays in the United Soccer League One, the league in which LSC played its first two seasons.

This coming season will be Brown’s fourth in a row playing in USL1. He previously played for Greenville Triumph during the 2022 season before his two seasons in the Bluegrass.
