Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival moved to virtual format
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – As COVID cases rise and the Delta variant presents more concern, the Lexington Roots and Heritage Festival has been moved to a virtual format.
According to the festival’s Facebook page, the plan is to pre-record the event’s stage lineups and play them on the weekend the festival was scheduled for. A schedule of performances will be posted once finalized so that viewers can gather safely in their homes and watch the festival.
Other virtual activities are planned such as a scavenger hunt and a reverse parade where East End residents can decorate their houses and win prizes.
Vendors and parade participants will be spotlighted and t-shirts will be available for sale.
Any vendors that already paid will receive a refund from the festival.
