UPDATE: Residents rescued from homes along River, Beach roads in Lexington

UPDATE POSTED 9 A.M.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fire rescue crews had to get a man out of his home that was surrounded by water on Beach Road at about 9 a.m. Fire crews were bringing in other boats to get other residents in the area out.

Much of River Road in the same area was flooded with as much as three feet or more of water, fire crews said.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A vehicle was stranded in high water Monday morning.

It happened on Old Richmond Road between Beach Road and River Road, along the Kentucky River.

Emergency crews on scene tell ABC36 the driver was able to get out of the vehicle but the road is currently closed due to high water.

Also in Lexington, Lexwrecks reported Tates Creek Road between Spears Road and the Kentucky River is closed due to flooding. Drivers are advised to avoid this area. The Valley View Ferry is also closed.
