Lexington restaurant to hold fundraiser for June shooting victim
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington restaurant Willie’s Locally Known is holding a revival for a local music video producer who was shot on June 26th.
Police say Coleman Saunders was shot around 6:00 a.m. on the 26th, near the intersection of Limestone and Seventh Street. According to officers, Saunders was approached by three men, one of them armed. The three men took Saunders’ phone and his wallet. Saunders was shot during the incident.
Tuesday night’s “Revival for Coleman Saunders” is being hosted by Kristopher Bently of the band Sundy Best. He is inviting “all local and regional musicians who know and love Coleman” to joing him onstage. $15 dollar donations are being accepted, with proceeds going to offset Saunders’ medical expenses. The event will run from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
