Lexington police have suspect in 2016 murder

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police have identified a suspect in the 2016 murder of a Lexington woman.

Police say investigators served a murder warrant Thursday for 26-year-old Jarvis D. Garrett, of Georgetown.

Garrett is accused of killing 46-year-old Stephanie Mullins on August 7, 2016.

Her body was found behind an apartment building on Cross Keys Road in the area of Wolf Run Park.

Police say detectives from the Lexington Police Department used witness statements and DNA evidence to identify Garrett as the shooter.

Garrett is in the Hart County Jail on an unrelated charge.
