Lexington Police Seek Information Into Attempted Sexual Assault
Lexington, Ky – A man who attempted to sexually assault a woman in Lexington late last month is possibly connected with other assaults in the area. Investigators with the Lexington Police Department today released a sketch of the suspect, who was described by the victim as a white man in his late 20’s to early 40’s, approximately 5’ 9” to 6 feet tall, with a stocky build, dark hair and facial hair.
The attempted assault occurred around 12:30 a.m., Friday, August 26 in the area of Arlington Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue. Two witnesses were able to chase the suspect off.
The circumstances surrounding this incident appear similar to other unsolved cases over the past several years: a female victim walking alone is approached by an unknown white man and sexually assaulted. These incidents have generally occurred during overnight hours in neighborhoods surrounding the University of Kentucky campus.
Investigators are working to identify the suspect as well as the two witnesses who assisted the victim in the most recent incident.
