Lexington police searching for suspect in West Short Street shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington police are asking for the public’s help locating a suspect wanted in connection with a downtown shooting that happened last month.

On August 29 around 2:12 a.m., officers were called to the 300 block of West Short Street for a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Jonathan Streete. He has active warrants for first-degree assault and five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.

Police warn that if located, the public should not approach Streete, but instead contact local law enforcement immediately.
