Lexington police, other agencies, arrest suspect on multiple warrants

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Police, in partnership with the ATF, FBI and U.S. Marshals Service, arrested 22-year-old Da’Mond Smith on Monday, July 28, after locating him on multiple outstanding warrants, according to a department release.

Smith is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on warrants from another jurisdiction and the following Fayette County charges:

  • Five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment (discharge of a firearm)

  • Five counts of third-degree terroristic threatening

  • Four counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon

  • Two counts of first-degree criminal mischief

  • Two counts of drug paraphernalia buy/possess

  • Two counts of third-degree fleeing or evading police

  • Two counts of fourth-degree assault (dating violence, minor injury)

  • Two counts of trafficking in marijuana (8 oz to <5 lbs)

  • One additional count each of first-degree wanton endangerment and second-degree criminal mischief
