Lexington Police Officer Will Have Disciplinary Hearing

The Urban County Council said it will go ahead with a disciplinary hearing this month for a Lexington Police officer who admitted to harassing a young soccer referee after a match.

The timing is important because if the city fires Spears at the June 30th hearing, he wouldn’t be eligible for a disability pension, which he recently applied for. The pension board isn’t scheduled to take up his case until August.
Spears is currently on unpaid leave after pleading guilty to harassing a 13-year-old soccer referee after a match in Scott County.
