Lexington police officer injured during foot chase

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest has been made after a Lexington police officer was injured Thursday morning while chasing two suspects.

Officers say Chase Winings has been charged with fleeing and evading police, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.

Police say it all started when they responded to the scene of a disorder at around 2 a.m. off Elm Tree Lane.

Investigators say they found several people fighting.

Two people ran off and police say they believed one had a gun.

During the chase an officer slipped and fell, injuring his arm.

Winings was eventually arrested after police used a Taser on him.

The injured officer was taken to the hospital to be treated for a broken wrist.

No word on the second suspect at this time.
