Lexington police investigating shooting near Codell Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police are investigating a shooting early Sunday morning near an apartment complex.

Officers say they were called around 1:45 a.m. to Codell Drive.

They found a man there with a gunshot wound to his torso in the parking lot at Cedarwood Apartments.

According to officers, a witness said the man was shot while standing near a dark SUV.

He was taken to the hospital, but police do expect him to survive his injuries.

Officers say there are no suspects yet in the case.
