Coroner: 19-year-old male identified as victim in Friday night Lexington shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) –

Visitation, funeral, and burial services have been organized for 19-year-old Jarell A. Rojas, the male victim identified in Friday night’s shooting in Lexington, by the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home.

According to his obituary, Rojas’ visitation is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home at 3421 Harrodsburg Road. His funeral service falls the next day, on Friday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. at the same location.

Rojas will be buried at the Lexington Cemetery.

“Rest peacefully, Jarell Andrey Rojas. You were loved beyond words, you will be missed beyond measure, and you will forever be a part of us,” Rojas’ obituary read.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that a 19-year-old male was the victim of Friday night’s fatal shooting in the 2700 block of Tilden Drive in Lexington.

According to the coroner’s report, 19-year-old Jarell Rojas of Lexington died from a fatal gunshot wound at 8:35 p.m. on Friday. His manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

One person is dead following a shooting in the 2700 block of Tilden Drive in Lexington Friday night.

According to Lexington Police, officers responded to the area shots fired call at 7:46 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim dead in a vehicle; LPD believes the victim was not driving at the time of the shooting.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the victim.

LPD told an LEX News crew on scene that there is no suspect at this time. The shooting remains under investigation.
