Lexington Police identifies 20 people stealing from stores in shoplifting blitz

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-  The Lexington Police Department says they have carried out a shoplifting blitz that identified 20 people stealing from stores in the Hamburg and Richmond Road areas.

Police say during the blitz they found about $9,000 worth of stolen property.

In just three days last week, investigators worked with store security.

Ten people have been arrested and ten have been cited.

The Police Department says it did a similar operation in the fall and will continue to do this kind of targeted investigation from time to time.
