Lexington Police arrest man for assault against officer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington Police have arrested a man for assault against a police officer and wanton endangerment, after they say he injured an officer while trying to drive away from a traffic stop.
According to police, during the course of a traffic stop, Daniel Wafford gave a fake name to police when asked to identify himself.
Police say when they tried to arrest Wafford, he started to drive away and drove into a tree.
They say he then reversed back towards the officers, hitting and causing minor injury to one in the process.
Wafford faces charges of fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment, and assault against a police officer.
