Lexington PD looking for man in connection to shooting and robbery

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Investigators with the Lexington Police Department are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting and robbery.

Police are looking for 18-year-old Trey Whitaker-Blackburn. They say he has an active warrant for robbery and assault stemming from a shooting that occurred August 2 on Chelsea Woods Drive. They say he is also a suspect in a robbery that occurred earlier this week on Bowie Drive.

On August 2, 2018 officers were dispatched to a home on Chelsea Woods Drive where a man had been shot in the leg. Through the course of the investigation, Whitaker-Blackburn and three other individuals were identified as suspects, two of which have already been located. They are still searching for a 17-year-old. Police can’t give out the names of minors.

Investigators identified Whitaker-Blackburn as one of two suspects in another robbery that occurred Tuesday, August 14 on Bowie Drive. In that case, the victims were robbed of cash and firearms by Whitaker-Blackburn and J’mari Taylor, 18. Detectives arrested Taylor Friday, charging him with robbery.
