Lexington Parks and Rec wants community input

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Parks & Recreation is asking for the community’s input to help determine current needs and future investments in the city’s pools.

“We need to hear from as many people as possible about what they think of our aquatic facilities and programs,” says Monica Conrad, Lexington’s Director of Parks & Recreation. “Public feedback is important to create a better experience for families.”

All together, Lexington has seven city pools. They include, Castlewood Aquatic Center, Southland Aquatic Center, Tates Creek Aquatic Center, Woodland Aquatic Center, Shillito Pool, Douglass Pool, and Picadome Pool.

On Wednesday, the city announced a new incentive to get public impact on the city’s pools. The online survey is available here and takes about 10 minutes to complete.

The community is also invited to the Get Out & Swim Launch Party at Shillito Pool on Saturday, July 11 from noon-4 p.m. The city says the “fun for all ages” event will include free admission to the pool, music, inflatables, prizes and free food. The pool located in Shillito Park at 300 Reynolds Road.
