Lexington mayor declares Blue-White Day to support UK women’s basketball in SEC Tournament

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton has declared Wednesday “Blue-White Day” in the city to support the Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball as they begin play in the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament.

The Wildcats are scheduled to face the Arkansas Razorbacks women’s basketball in the first round of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.

Tipoff is set for 11 a.m.

Mayor Gorton is encouraging fans across Lexington to wear blue and white throughout the day to show support for the team as they compete in the tournament.

The Wildcats are looking to make a strong run in the SEC tournament as postseason play gets underway.
