Lexington marks 192 new flu cases, 2 deaths last week

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The city marked 192 new flu cases and two deaths last week, according to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.

The new total for this season is up to 1,783.

About 83 percent of cases haven’t had the flu shot, the health department says.

The two deaths were a person in their 60s and a person in their 70s, both with underlying conditions.

There have been four flu-related deaths this season — since October 2023 to date.

Lexington also saw 111 new COVID-19 cases last week.
