Lexington man sentenced for having illegal gun, cocaine

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man was sentenced to two and a half years in federal prison Tuesday for possessing cocaine and a firearm as a convicted felon, according to court records.

The Department of Justice says 21-year-old Tevye Jones was arrested in August of 2018 after Lexington Police found a gun in his coat pocket. Officials say officers also found cocaine.

Prosecutors say Jones was on parole for a state conviction for robbery when the offense occurred. They say Jones pleaded guilty in November 2019.
