Lexington man sentenced to 5-years in restaurant arson case
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington man was sentenced Monday to five years in federal prison for setting a restaurant on fire last year not long after being fired by the business, according to federal prosecutors.
21-year old Bennie Davis was also ordered to pay $250,000 in restitution in the case.
Prosecutors say Davis admits on April 25, 2017, he broke-in to a Qdoba Mexican Eats Restaurant on Nicholasville Road where he used to be a shift manager, set the business on fire and stole money from a cash drawer in the safe.
Under federal law, Davis must serve 85-percent of his sentence; and upon his release, he will be on probation for three years, according to prosecutors.
