Lexington Man Sending Donations To Sandy Victims
"There’s a lot of people, I believe, that wanna do something. But, just, nobody knows what to do," said Robinson.
So he rented a large truck out-of-pocket, asked friends to spread the word, and began taking donations.
Robinson said he plans to drive the truck up to Staten Island himself on Saturday, Nov. 10th, but he wants to fill it first.
The donor said he’s taking donations such as:
- non-perishable food (canned goods, prepackaged, etc.)
- baby food, formula, wipes, and diapers
- bottled water
- toiletries (soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.)
- boardgames
- blankets
- cleaning supplies (bleach, mops, hand sanitizer, towels, etc.)
- work supplies (shovels, tarps, flashlights, gloves, etc.)
- trash bags
If you’d like to help out, Robinson said he’d be collecting at Courtesy Accord on Nicholasville (near Fayette Mall) from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
On Friday, the donor said the truck would be at The Lexus Store of Lexington from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"It’s been pretty amazing to watch it develop. I’m excited to see what all happens," he said of the efforts.
