Lexington man indicted for fatal crash
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A grand jury has indicted a Lexington man in connection to a fatal accident last September in Somerset.
According to the Commonwealth Journal, 40-year-old Larry Steven Murray was indicted last week on several charges including murder, wanton endangerment, assault, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Investigators say Murray was driving a pickup truck on Ky. 461 on September 22, 2017, when he drifted into the opposite lane, sideswiped a tanker truck then hit another car head-on.
The driver of the car, 80-year-old Leonard “Wilford” Purcell, of Somerset, was killed.
Murray and his passenger were both injured.
