Lexington Humane Society holds third annual ‘Brews for Rescues’ event at West Sixth Brewing
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW via LEX NEWS) — The Lexington Humane Society held its third annual “Brews for Rescues” fundraiser at West Sixth Brewing on Sunday.
The event began after Kyle Wiley with West Sixth adopted his dog, Brewtus, from the Lexington Humane Society.
The day started with two classes of puppy yoga, followed by “Yappy Hour,” where attendees could meet adoptable animals and participate in a kissing booth with West Sixth mascot Brewtus.
Hannah Ferrell, the marketing manager for the Lexington Humane Society, said fundraisers like this make a significant difference for the animals in their care.
“You’re really helping us afford just the basics of the supplies we need to care for these animals. You’re helping us buy food. You’re helping us, buy litter… those just basic care needs that these animals have in the time that they’re with us.”
Ferrell said the organization could not do what it does without donations from people in the community.
