Lexington honors COVID-19 victims in downtown memorial
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington is honoring those in the city who have died from coronavirus in a special memorial ceremony Friday.
A memorial titled “IN REMEMBERANCE” will sit in a window of the Miller Downtown Arts Center on Main Street. There will be a candle for each life lost to the virus. Currently, 106 people have died in Fayette County and 14,551 have tested positive for COVID-19.
The ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on Facebook.
Anyone who would like to share information or memories of their friends or family who have passed away from the virus can do so by emailing the city at inremembrance@lexingtonky.gov. The email will be shared on social media.
