Lexington Habitat for Humanity wants city’s ARPA funding used for affordable housing

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – As the City of Lexington seeks input on how to spend $120 million received from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), one local organization has a suggestion.

Lexington Habitat for Humanity posted on its Facebook page about this “unprecedented funding.” The organization used information from the Lexington Community Land Trust to illustrate how 17,780 Lexingtonians are struggling financially and spending over 50% of their income on housing.

Ultimately, Lexington Habitat for Humanity stressed the urgency for affordable housing.
