Lexington Habitat for Humanity gets $40K donation to continue home repairs for those in need

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington’s Habitat for Humanity received a $40,000 donation to repair four homes for people in need in the city.

The donation came from Lowe’s.

Lexington Habitat will use the money to replace roofs, accessibility updates, plumbing repairs and install new flooring for four homeowners.

“Lexington Habitat and Stephanie (Critical Home Repair Project Manager) have blessed me with a beautiful working bathroom and a new roof. I’m so grateful to Habitat and Lowe’s,” one of the homeowners receiving repairs through this program told Lexington Habitat.

The funding from Lowe’s is part of a two-year, $6 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International to support home repair and preservation efforts in owner-occupied homes.

The program assists low-income homeowners who are affected by age, disability or other circumstances and struggle to maintain the integrity of their homes.
