Lexington Habitat For Humanity Builds First Handicapped Accessible Home

University of Kentucky students finished construction on a home Saturday and made history doing it.

They built and financially sponsored Lexington Habitat for Humanity’s first fully handicapped accessible home.

The home will go to UK Alum Misty Hess. She has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.

Many features of the house, like wider hallways and non-carpeted floors, will give the new owner more independence and mobility.
