Lexington firefighters battle overnight fire
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington firefighters responded to a structure fire on Sulphur Well Road around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Authorities have been trying to put out the flames throughout the morning.
They say two people lived in the home, but both made it out.
Crews say the cold has made their jobs much harder, causing a problem with a truck.
They say the closest fire hydrant is 1.5 miles away, which slowed the process significantly.
The home was completely destroyed.
Firefighters say they may not be able to determine the cause of the fire because of the extent of the damage.
