Lexington firefighter arrested on theft charges, department confirms
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Lexington firefighter has been arrested and is now on paid administrative duty while an investigation moves forward, according to the Lexington Fire Department.
Battalion Chief Derek Roberts said Jeremiah Littrell was arrested Wednesday in Fayette County on charges of theft by failure to make required disposition involving between $1,000 and $10,000, along with theft by deception.
Littrell has worked with the Lexington Fire Department since 2009.
Roberts said, following department policy, Littrell has been placed on paid administrative duty while the criminal case is investigated. The department also plans to conduct an internal investigation once the criminal process is complete.
The Lexington Fire Department says it does not comment during open criminal or internal investigations.
