Lexington Fire: Two firefighters were injured when second floor of a home collapsed

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two Lexington fire fighters were injured during a house fire off of Rolling Ridge Friday morning, according to officials.

The Lexington Battalion Chief says the firefighters were injured when debris collapsed onto them from the 2nd floor of the home.

The Chief says Lt. Donovan Wilson suffered burns to his back and neck area, and Firefighter James Adkins is being treated for back pain.

Officials say they are both in good spirits.

They believe the cause of the fire was possibly lightning, but they are still investigating.

Family members say one dog and a cat were rescued from the home and Figarro the cat was found later hiding in the kitchen.
