Lexington fire destroys home

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A firefighter and a resident are recovering after a home caught fire late Saturday night in Lexington.

Flames broke out just after 10:30 PM at a home on Chelsea Woods Drive, then spread to a neighboring home.

According to the fire department, one house was a total loss and the other suffered significant damage.

The injured firefighter is expected to be okay and the resident is being treated for smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
