The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that a 26-year-old Lexington man died from drowning on Saturday night at a reservoir near Richmond Road.

According to a press release, 26-year-old Fernando Jose Miguel Bravo died at 7:56 p.m. Saturday after he accidentally drowned in the reservoir.

The Lexington Police Department has released additional details regarding a reported drowning that turned into a death investigation on Saturday evening.

According to authorities, the Lexington Police Department was dispatched around 5:56 p.m. Saturday to reports of a drowning near the 3700 block of Richmond Road.

On the scene, officers discovered a deceased individual, who was pronounced dead by the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

According to Lexington police, foul play is not suspected in the death, but the incident remains under investigation.
