Lexington family held at gunpoint during home invasion
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Lexington home is broken into with a couple and an infant inside and police say the suspects knew exactly what they were looking for.
Police tell us three men forced open a door in the rear of the home in the 1600 block of Waycross Circle early Saturday morning.
Officers were called to the scene at around 2:15 a.m. but say the break-in happened an hour earlier.
The victims say all of the suspects were dressed in black and wearing masks.
Two had guns – one a handgun and the other possibly a squirt gun – according to the victims.
They forced the family into the basement then took a safe from the home.
Police tell us no one was hurt.
They say this was not a random crime since the suspects knew about the safe.
